With over 26 years of expertise in waste management, Nabugabo Updeal Joint Venture (NUJV), in partnership with Kyuka Ventures, proudly introduces Kyuka Energies—a groundbreaking solution to Uganda’s plastic waste crisis.
Leveraging NUJV’s vast experience and advanced pyrolysis technology, this initiative converts plastic waste into Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), offering a sustainable and affordable clean energy alternative. By reducing plastic pollution and promoting circular economy solutions, Kyuka Energies Cooking Gas is driving innovation for a greener, healthier future.

The Problem
Plastic pollution and energy poverty remain major challenges in Uganda. Millions of tons of plastic waste contaminate the environment, while many households lack access to clean cooking fuels. Traditional methods, like firewood and charcoal, contribute to deforestation and respiratory diseases.
Our Solution
The Plastics-to-Gas project utilizes pyrolysis technology to convert plastic waste into high-quality LPG, reducing pollution and promoting sustainable energy solutions.
How It Works
1️⃣ Plastic Waste Collection & Sorting – Non-recyclable plastics are gathered and prepared for processing.
2️⃣ Shredding & Preprocessing – Plastics are broken down for efficient conversion.
3️⃣ Pyrolysis Process – The shredded plastics are heated in an oxygen-free chamber, transforming them into fuel.
4️⃣ Refining & Storage – LPG is purified to meet commercial and household energy needs.
5️⃣ Distribution – The final product is supplied to homes, industries, and businesses.
